Lola

When I met my husband, he told me he had a Rottweiler and that he and his dog Tyson came as a package deal.  There was no splitting these two up.  I was falling hard for this boy and had to accept that he loved his dog.  Justin loved dogs but I was always hesitant since I had been jumped on when I was really young and was freaked our ever since.  Since then he has always wanted a friend for Tyson. I asked if he would wait.  He agreed. I told him that if we do get another dog, it has to be a puppy since I have never experienced it before as this would be my first dog ever that is really mine. He agreed to that too.  Almost four years later, he is getting another four legged furry friend.  I always would always postpone it by saying lets wait till we get our own house [march 2010], lets wait till we are engaged [july 2010], lets wait till I'm done with school [may 2011], lets wait till after the wedding [oct 2011], lets wait till after the honeymoon [dec 2011], lets wait till after the holiday's [dec 2011], and then I ran out of excuses.  Along the way he would always email me links to websites for puppies and then decided that instead of getting a puppy from a breeder that we should rescue a puppy.  He then found Adopt a Pet which had so many options.  We decided that any pup we find that we like from here on out we would see how much the adoption fee is and go from there.  We found two that we liked wednesday night, and they were both at the same foster home and then this morning we called and drove to Arizona to see them.  There names were Pearl and Lizzie.  Justin like Pearl, an all black lab mix and I like Lizzie a lab/ shepard that had the same color coat as Tyson.  Justin wanted me to have the entire experience like he did with Tyson, so he let me pick which one and then I had to name her too.  This morning we slept in and when we woke up we called the foster family.  They said that Lizzie and Pearl were still available and that we could come and see them.  I grabbed the first piece of paper that I could find and wrote down the directions.  We hopped in the truck and started driving.  No matter how long the road trip is, we always have to stop at Starbucks first!

I chose Lizzie and renamed her: little miss LOLA!

The foster family told us they found Lola and six of her brother and sisters behind a building when they were 5-6 weeks old in a milk crate.

The foster family will be bringing her to Vegas Saturday morning after she is spayed tomorrow.  We can't wait to have Tyson meet his new little sister!!

ready

there is one month and one week left until i marry my love.  for some reason it still seems so far away, yet it will be here and gone before i know it.  i have been looking forward to my wedding day since i first understood what a wedding even was.  i was not one of those little girls who had everything planned out and knew exactly what i wanted from a young age.  i just knew it would be perfect because i would finally be able to call my love, my husband. my style and taste has dramatically changed over the years and i love that i am able to personalize who justin and i are as a couple. it seems like i still need months to finish all the details and projects i've been working on to make our wedding show who we really are.  im not going to lie, this has been one of the most stressful, time consuming, and emotionally draining things i have ever done in my life, but at the same time planning our wedding has been so wonderful to the point words cannot describe.  i know that on october twenty-first it will all be worth it, but it has definitely been one hell of a ride there.  there has been a lot of laughter, smiles, joy, tears and let downs but i have the best husband to be, family and friend who have stood by my side and helped me through this awesome yet crazy ride.  i am sooo incredibly excited and anxious, most importantly, ready to marry justin.  with all of that said, i can't want to be normal again. i want to be able to afford to do what ever we want instead of the wedding sucking away our money. i want to rent a movie and not fall asleep watching it. i want to go out without feeling guilty i should be making something for the wedding. i want to be stress and care free again. i want it to be october twenty-first. i want to be mrs toranzo.

back in june, we celebrated ms katie jozsa's love for her husband to be, luke. her bridesmaids threw her an incredible wine themed shower. here are some lovely photos to recap

(Katie and sisters, Kelly and Melody)

i made them a love box. it holds things that they have from their past and a place to put things they want as a family for the future. i hope they open it again when they are old and see what an amazing life they lived.

the next night, we celebrated katie's "last" night out as flappers from the 1920's before she became a bride. we had a gorgeous suite at green valley ranch. her maid of honors arranged for a photographer to come and shoot before we went out for the night. it was like her own personal photo shoot. it was perfect.

thanks friend for allowing me to be apart of some of the best days of your life. i can't wait for ALL of the rest to come! love you dearly kates.

The second half of March were celebrated my 22nd birthday. The weekend before my bday, Justin had bought me tickets to see Aaron Lewis at Green Valley Ranch where my girlfriend, Shipa and her bf Derek, joined us for a night of fun! We had also got a room at the M for the night to have a little mini staycation in between my crazy work schedule.

Aaron Lewis of Staind.
There is only one word to describe him:
INCREDIBLE

Then we went to STEEL PANTER!!

The following morning we went to Hash House A GO GO where their farm fresh portions are ridiculously large. My pancake is larger than my stinkin plate!

Then finally my bday arrived! I decided to work the day of since all of my family and friends were also working, I'd rather have the Saturday and Sunday off and celebrate all weekend long!
So two hours into my shift, a man came to the desk with HUGE bouquet of flowers and a happy birthday balloon. No big deal, we always have flowers delievered to the hotel and then we send them up to the guest rooms. Well this time they were for me, all mine, they were absolutely gorgeous and from Momma and T!

After work, Shilpa and I went to get a manicure and pedicure as we waited for our boys to get off work and then met my family at Yardhouse for dinner and drinks. Justin said that since its my birthday and we are at Yardhouse, I HAVE to drink the largest beer they offer the 1/2 yard.
[remember, the only time that i drink beer, is when playing beer pong]
T had to join in on the half yard fun =)

The following night, we went to Pete's Piano Bar.
We laughed, danced, sang, drank as we continued to celebrate.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, whether they were phone calls, text messages, facebook posts. I had a fabulous time and its all because of you!
